Funding your Studies

Financing your MBA

Deciding to study the MBA is a considerable financial investment. You are advised to research how you are going to finance this as early as possible. The majority of students on the full-time programme as self funded. UK students can apply to loan schemes to fund their studies and non-UK usually raise their own finances through bank loans or scholarships.

AMBA Business School Loan Scheme

As the Strathclyde MBA programme is accredited by AMBA and as a UK applicant, you can apply to their preferential loan scheme for funding of your studies. The Nat West Bank administers this scheme. Career Development Loans

The Career Development Loan Scheme is run in partnership with the Department of Education and Employment and is available at the following banks - Barclays, Clydesdale, Co-operative and the Royal Bank of Scotland. Strathclyde Team Player MBA Scholarships

The Strathclyde full time MBA programme places an emphasis on group work, and consequently, ability to work as part of a team. Therefore candidates interested in applying for these scholarships of £2500 each are required to demonstrate through their ideas, experience and achievements that they are an excellent team player and will be an asset to this year’s full–time group. Strathclyde Team Player MBM Scholarships

Department for International development Scheme (DFID)

PgD instructional awards for applicants of outstanding academic calibre who have not previously studied in a developed country.  Deadline to be advised.  For further details visit the IGO website.

Pakistan 50th Anniversary Fund

PgD instructional awards for needy but well qualified applicants to pursue a 1 year Masters in UK.  Applicants must have a first class honours degree from a recognised Pakistan University.  Preference given to those with work experience and who have not studied before in the UK.

British Chevening Scholarships (20% plus discount scheme)

These scholarships are available in 160 countries worldwide.  In partnership with the British Council, the Strathclyde Business School offers is delighted to offer top-up fee payments for suitably qualified and selected applicants. For further details visit http://www.chevening.com/

Living expenses

The estimated living costs for a single student for a year are approximately £7000 - £8200. This is based on staying in University accommodation. For information on available accommodation email Student.Accommodation@mis.strath.ac.uk
