MBA Admissions
The Admissions Procedure
Selection criteria
The University of Strathclyde Graduate School of Business attracts talented professionals from a wide range of academic, business and cultural backgrounds. The following guidelines will help you through the application process.
Managerial capability
To assess your suitability we need the following:
- a completed application form
- two personal references, one from your current employer or a colleague who knows you well. The second is an academic reference and should ideally be from someone who has taught you at university or college. We realise in certain circumstances that this may not be feasible and therefore ask that referees are able to testify to your academic and professional capabilities
A candidate's managerial potential is evaluated through the application form which includes essay style questions covering personal aspirations and suitability for the course.
We assess each candidate's aptitude for intensive learning and consider the following:
- achievements in the context of personal and professional opportunities and constraints
- how you perceive your own performance, progress and potential and how these are perceived by others
- leadership qualities
- the ability to work within groups
A formal interview will be required, irrespective of your chosen study route, and you are strongly encouraged to visit us at the Business School.
