Aims and Objectives

The MSc BITS aims to develop individuals with an integrated understanding of how IT might be employed effectively by organisations and have the skills to put this understanding into action.

Specifically, the programme aims to develop your ability to:

• understand the link between business strategy, information strategy and competitive advantage
• assess the current information systems of an organisation against business needs and develop an appropriate response
• assess developments in the field of IT and their potential for delivering value to organisations
• understand the systems and processes through which organisational activity is managed
• demonstrate comprehensive project management skills including proposal development, project planning, implementation and change management strategies
• develop the skills needed to work effectively with others, motivating and inspiring fellow team members
