Strathclyde Associate MBA Programme

For many managers, the demands of work and life leave little time to consider undertaking a business qualification, such as the Strathclyde MBA. Yet, as your career progresses, there is often a need for some formal study or management development.

For those of you not yet ready to enrol on the Strathclyde MBA, but keen to experience formally elements of the syllabus, or for those of you keen to participate in a particular subject area, without any further commitment, then the Strathclyde Associate MBA Programme may offer the perfect solution.

By attending one or more of the Strathclyde MBA intensive seminars as an Associate course member, you can take the first step toward gaining an MBA qualification, or simply participate in a high quality learning experience with like-minded colleagues.

What is an Associate MBA course member?

An Associate MBA course member would attend Strathclyde's intensive seminar classes and local counselling sessions at one of our MBA centres around the world. You will join existing MBA course members on these sessions. All of our MBA course members are experienced managers, from a variety of industry backgrounds. Our exacting recruitment process means that the calibre of the group you would be joining is extremely high. This offers an opportunity to network, and learn from other's experiences.

As an Associate course member, you would be expected to contribute to the proceedings, and participate in any group work during the intensive seminar.

Assessment

You have the choice of completing the seminar with or without assessment.

If you choose to be assessed, you will be expected to undertake and pass coursework from the seminar. On successful completion, you will be awarded a Certificate of Performance, and gain credits towards completion of the Strathclyde MBA.

Should you prefer not to be assessed, you will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance from the University of Strathclyde Business School.

Route to the Strathclyde MBA

Associate course members who chose to be assessed, and gain credits towards the Strathclyde MBA can only gain a maximum of 20% of the total programme's credits in this manner. Should you wish to continue your studies and gain the Strathclyde MBA after participating in the Associate MBA programme, it is strongly advisable to discuss application and enrolment with your preferred centre.

What is an Intensive Seminar?

An intensive seminar is a face to face workshop delivered by a member of the Strathclyde MBA academic team to current MBA course members. The Strathclyde academic flies out to the Centre from Glasgow and will be experienced in facilitating the learning of post-experience MBA candidates. Your preferred international centre will be able to advise of delivery of these seminars.

These sessions are designed to be as participative as possible given the nature of the subject manner, and the teaching staff encourage lively and stimulating debated during the seminar.

The seminar is supported through other sessions that are run by local staff ('local counsellors') who have the role of supplementing the learning from the Strathclyde staff.
