She later took up a full time position in 2002 teaching not only this course but also Organizational Behaviour and is academic manager of the project element of the Graduate School's masters programs.

Her research addresses many aspects of the psychology of organizations but she is primarily concerned with a psychological perspective of top management team and corporate board level interaction. She publishes in each of these areas as well as supervising PhD students.

In addition to her teaching and research activity, Phyl works with organizations as a consultant and runs her own private practice as a psychotherapist working exclusively with organizational contacts and increasingly specialising with Chief Executive Officers.
